Country Life magazine 1897-1940

Country Life magazine commenced publication in 1897 and remains the quintessential magazine of British country life and property today. Each weekly issue contains an illustrated main article on a country house or historical building including many of England's lost or demolished country houses. The early issues contain an important record of the design, decor and furniture, building alterations and gardens over the past 120 years. Notable contributors include Christopher Hussey, Oliver Hill, Gertrude Jekyll, Sir Lawrence Weaver and R Randal Phillips.

The country house articles are a valuable resource for restorers, interior designers and historians. We supply you with the original issue of the magazine beginning with the portrait frontispiece and including the main feature of the house or historic building listed.
