Upton House, Banbury (Part 2) The Seat of Viscount Bearsted
Original issue of Country Life magazine dated September 12th 1936 featuring a main article on Upton House in Warwickshire (Part 2 of 2) The Seat of Viscount Bearsted. Built by Sir Rushout Cullen in 1695 and then enlarged and remodelled in 1927 by Mr Morley Horder for Lord and Lady Bearsted. This issue contains a six page write up on the history of the house including black and white photograph illustrations of the exterior of the house, the gardens and grounds. This magazine is in very good condition with a portrait frontispiece of Miss Camilla Russell. Upton House also featured in an earlier issue of Country Life in 1904 when it was owned by Mr Andrew Motion.
