Lake House (Part-2), the home of LT.- Colonel and Lady Janet Bailey
An original issue of Country Life magazine dated April 3rd 1937 featuring a main article on Lake House (Part-2) in Wiltshire, the home of LT.-Colonel and Lady Janet Bailey. Built by George Duke in 1758 but gutted by fire in 1912, reconstruction and additions by Braddell and Deane in the 1930's. This issue contains a six page write up with black and white illustrations of the house interior, decor, furnishings and plans showing additons and alterations. An earlier issue of Country Life published in 1908 is available detailing the house before the fire of 1912. This issue is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of Lady Elisabeth Murray.
