Heywood (Part 2) in Queens County, The Seat of Sir W. Hutcheson Poe, Bart
An original very early issue of Country Life Magazine dated January 11th 1919 featuring a main article on Heywood in near Ballinakill, County Laois in Ireland, the Seat of Sir W. Hutcheson Poe, Bt. (Part 2). Containing a six page write up with black and white illustrations of the house and interior. This issue is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of Miss Violet De Trafford. Heywood House burnt down in 1950. The gardens were designed in 1906 by Sir Edwin Lutyens most likely with the help of Miss Gertrude Jekyll.
