20, St James's Square, The Preservation of an Adam House

An original issue of Country Life magazine for August 5th 1939 featuring a main article on No. 20, St. James's Square, London. An Adam Masterpiece built for Sir Williams Watkins Wynn between 1771-1774. This issue contains a five page write up on the preservation of the Adam House which had newly become the headquarters of the Distillers' Company and includes black and white photographic illustrations of the exterior and entrance, the interior including The Board Room, The Directors Room, Music Room decoration and paintings. The magazine is in very good condition with a portrait frontispiece of Mrs John Crompton-Inglefield with her Daughters.
