An antique miniature hand coloured aquatint engraved print of Durdans, near Epsom in Surrey, the seat of Blackman Esq, from John Hassell's Picturesque Rides and Walks, with excursions by Water, thirty miles round the British Metropolis, Illustrated in a series of engravings. Published 1816-1818. Drawn and Engraved by John Hassell. Titled and dated 1816. A fine miniature series with beautiful original fine hand colouring. Image size approx 9 x 6 cm with plate mark and good margins. Excellent condition. Scarce.
John Hassell (c. 1767-1825) lived in London and was an aquatint engraver of small topographical views and bookplates. He was also a watercolour landscape painter and author of many books on water colour paintings and drawings.
