The Re-building of Castle Hill in Devon, The Seat of the Earl Fortescue

Original Country Life magazine dated October 29th 1938 featuring a main article on Castle Hill in Devon (The Re-building). This issue contains a five page write up on the restoration and re-building that took place after the centre block was destroyed by fire in 1934, including black and white photograph illustrations of the exterior re-built from old paintings, images of the house before the fire, images of the interior and rooms, the new gardens and plans of the centre block before and after. This magazine is in very good condition with a portrait frontispiece of Lady Caroline Scott.
