Coleshill House, The Residence of the Hon. Duncombe Pleydell-Bouverie
An original very early issue of Country Life magazine dated May 7th 1904 featuring a main article on Coleshill House in Berkshire, designed by Inigo Jones and built by Sir Roger Pratt ca. 1660. Gutted by fire and demolished in 1958. This issue contains an eight page write up on the history of the houser with black and white photograph illustrations of the house exterior, interior (gallery, staircase and plasterwork of the ceilings throughout). The magazine is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of The Viscountess of Falmouth & Baby.
