Belmont, the Seat of Thomas Harvey, Esq

An antique miniature hand coloured aquatint engraved print of Belmont in Hertforshire from John Hassell's Picturesque Rides and Walks, with excursions by Water, thirty miles round the British Metropolis, Illustrated in a series of engravings. Published 1817-1818. This single Drawn and Engraved by J Hassell. Titled and dated 1817. A beautiful miniature series with fine original hand colouring. Image size approx 9 x 6 cm plus plate mark and good margins. Excellent condition. Scarce.

John Hassell (c.1767-1825) lived in London, he was an aquatint engraver of small topographical views and bookplates, he was also a watercolour landscape painter and author of many books on watercolour paintings and drawings.
