A very scarce original engraved print illustrating a view of Trentham Hall, west and south prospect in Staffordshire, published in 1686 for Robert Plot. Drawn and engraved by M. Burghers, titled and with coat of arms above. Illustration size 28 x 35cm (with centre fold, as issued) Very good condition.
Michael Burghers (c. 1653-1727) was a Dutch line engraver born in Amsterdam and lived in Oxford, England from 1673. He was commissioned by the aristocracy to create estate plans, illustrations of country houses and maps.
