A very scarce original engraved print illustrating a view of Tixall Hall in Staffordshire, published in 1686 for Robert Plot. Drawn by E. Slaney and engraved by M. Burghers, titled and with coat of arms above. Illustration size 25 x 39cm (with centre fold, as issued). Slightly cropped to the left and right edges, otherwise good condition.

Michael Burghers (c. 1653-1727) was a Dutch line engraver born in Amsterdam and lived in Oxford, England from 1673. He was commissioned by the aristocracy to create estate plans, illustrations of country houses and maps.
