Leigh Court, Abbots Leigh

Antique pencil drawing on paper of Leigh Court at Abbots Leigh, Somerset from a collection drawn by Charles Greenwood and Frederick Peake produced between 1840-1850. This one believed to have been drawn by Frederick Peake (although not signed). A view of the house surrounded by trees and shrubs. Pencil. Some fraying and slight tears to edges, otherwise good condition (see images). Size 33 x 25cm.

Leigh Court was built in 1814 from Bath stone and replaced an earlier tudor house close to the site, the grounds were landscaped by Humphrey Repton. Leigh Court is Grade II listed.
