Clytha House (Clytha Park), The Seat of William Jones, Esq

Antique pencil drawing on paper of Clytha House / Clytha Park in Monmouthshire from a collection of drawings by Charles Greenwood and Frederick Peake produced between 1840-1850. This one drawn by Frederick Peake and dated 1841. Inscribed 'Clytha - William Jones, Esq' and signed F. Peake, dated 1841'. A view of the house in the landscape with tree in the foreground. Pencil, heightened with white water colour wash. Very good condition (see images). Size 25.5 x 17.5cm.   

Clytha House is a Grade I listed building. The house was constructed for William Jones in 1820 and designed by the architect Edward Haycock. Believed to be the last Greek-Style house in Wales, now owned by the National Trust.
